What is this course about?

Lean six sigma enables all employees to work in collaborative teams to improve process performance and increase customer satisfaction. A Green Belt (GB) project leader is capable of leading a cross-functional team through a series of formal project and problem solving steps. GB projects are short-projects (c. 10 – 20 weeks) that result in customer satisfaction and cost savings or additional revenue for the organization.

On this course you will learn that lean and six sigma are about teamwork, process management and customer service. The course curriculum is run according to ISO13053-1 Quantitative methods in process improvement — Six Sigma — Part 1: DMAIC methodology, guidelines with additional technical topics Hypothesis Testing and Design of Experiments (DOE).  The course is best suited to personnel who need relatively sophisticated tools for analysis and improving processes e.g. engineers, quality analysts and development chemists. Certification is based on attendance + completion of online assignments + completion of an in-house process improvement project.

The course consists of a series of 7 facilitated onsite full-day workshops, interactive exercises, assignments and project work. Your knowledge builds in a step wise fashion and you will be supported and encouraged throughout your learning journey. The workshops are blocked as 3days – 2days – 2days, approximately 4 weeks apart. This allows project work and assignments to be completed between learning days. This course is offered on an in-company basis only i.e. all candidates are from the one organisation. The course content is customised to meet the organisation’s need, at no extra cost. All Lean Ireland tutors are certified Lean Six Sigma black belts with several years’ experience in facilitating workshops in a wide variety of sectors.

The software application used is Minitab.
